Department: Investment Strategy and Capital Allocation Position type: Salaried Specific accountabilities In the performance of his/her duties within the Investment Strategy and Capital Allocation team, the incumbent will be responsible for analyzing, from a capital allocation and arbitration perspective, recommendations for acquisitions, development, redevelopment and provisions related to real-estate transactions proposed by the business units. In addition, the incumbent will ensure that the transactions are aligned with the strategic investment plan and that all risk-return criteria are met. The incumbent will also be responsible for the following: Evaluate and make recommendations on major transactions in a context of capital allocation and arbitration; Analyze underwriting assumptions to assess the probability of reaching performance targets; Ensure transactions are aligned with the investment strategy and capital allocation; Draft the Investment Strategy and Capital Allocation memo; Comment on transaction-related documents presented to the various Committees and Boards on request and assume the role of reviewer for the Strategic Investment and Capital Allocation Department; Work in close collaboration with members of the Integrated Risk Management team and the business units during transaction analyses; Fulfill specific investment strategy mandates (key trends, investment opportunities, etc.), in close collaboration with the Research team and the business units; Update investment models based on the Underwriting Guide to ensure the standardization of investment analyses; Keep the level of transaction-related financial information on various databases current and participate in the production of reports for senior management; Maintain a high degree of knowledge of the markets and products for which he/she is responsible, making it possible to comment on the assumptions retained for underwriting purposes; Perform all other related tasks required by his/her duties or requested by his/her immediate supervisor. Key requirements Bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a major in finance or real estate management; Professional designation (C.App. or CFA) or a Master’s degree in any other relevant field; Three to five years of relevant experience; Strong interest for real estate investments; Strong financial analysis skills; Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; Knowledge of Argus/Enterprise, an asset; Flexible approach to working hours; Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines; Available for occasional travel abroad; Team spirit, strong organizational skills and commitment to continuous quality improvement; Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
