Join us on this exciting journey.” ABB Power Grids is seeking a Senior Payroll Accounting Analyst for its Raleigh, NC location.

This role is responsible for Investigating, analyzing and preparing complex financial and business information in support of payroll activities.

Compile information and prepare reports, graphs and charts.

Analyze trends affecting various financial activities.

Recommend and implement measures to improve operations and services to customers.

Partner with Payroll, Finance and shared services to support business needs.

Ideal candidate would have experience with both US and Canadian payroll accounting practices.

Future scope of the role may require support of and/or providing direction to support Canadian payroll accounting activities.

Your responsibilities The Analyst role is essential for internal controls related to restructuring and provides solid support for year-end audits.

This role will perform payroll bank account reconciliations This role reviews/reconciles general ledger accounts to ensure accurate Submit journal entries Submits accruals for benefits not calculated in HR module Analyze, reclass and true up by a journal entry of Vacation provision by PC Analyze, reclass and true up by a journal entry of OT provision by PC Allocate to Business by journal entries after analysis of the previous year ending balances for Payroll Government’s remittances Reconciliation and allocation to the Business by journal entries of the Medical Insurance last Invoice received (CA only, US Finance FO handles) Periodic review of Restructuring Prepare portion of UT reporting Incentive accounting allocations to prior year’s budget Requesting SAP account maintenance (minimal), approvals Plan and conduct investigations, audits and analyses of a variety of financial information used in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, business plans, prices, costs of products, services and operations, and prepare reports and recommendations.

Review data and consult with governmental, customer and operating personnel to obtain financial information.

Select or devise techniques to ensure optimal analysis of financial elements.

Recommend measures to achieve resolution of complex and controversial financial problems.

Continually review operations to reduce impact of potential problems and to take advantage of opportunities to achieve cost savings and improve customer satisfaction.

Work with Finance to design, establish, modify, verify and implement cost-effective and responsive programs to meet financial requirements, including a system of checks and balances to safeguard the Company’s assets.

Your background Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field and minimum of 8 years experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
