Associate, Family Account Management and Accounting LocationMontreal Apply Now Associate, Family Account Management and AccountingPosition overview :Richter currently has an opportunity for an Associate within the Family Account Management and Accounting team.The candidate must possess a sound knowledge of accounting as well as a good understanding of financial products in order to serve the interests of a high-net-worth client base.What’s in it for you :The opportunity to progress to the role of personal CFO; The chance to be part of a dynamic and supportive team; The opportunity to gain an understanding of investments; The opportunity to have a positive impact.A day in the life of an Associate :Prepare Notice to Readers (NTR) financial statements .Assess accounting policies used by the entity and identify departures from GAAP.Handle bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and other banking transactions.Determine adjustments (accruals, amortization, etc.) for NTR statements and propose accounting entries.Assist in determining accounting entries to record complex corporate transactions arising from roll-overs, windups, and dissolutions or amalgamations.Prepare the financial statements for an entire group of affiliated companies and ensure intercompany transactions and accounts are correctly recorded.Gain an understanding of the investments and a general understanding of the fiscal and accounting implications.Identify business, accounting and tax issues impacting the business in the course of preparing year-end reports and statements.Prepare personal, corporate, trust and partnership tax returns (T1, T2, T3, T5013).Prepare T5 slips.Assess and prepare foreign reporting requirements (T1134 and T1135).Assess compliance with sales tax (HST/GST/QST) and payroll regulations.Participate to tax strategies recommendation in consideration of remuneration planning, distribution of income among family members, CDA balances, and safe income.What we are looking for :CPA designation2 to 5 years of experience in related dutiesExperience in an accounting firm, an assetOther designations, an asset (F.Pl., TEP, CFA, MBA)Ability to work in a growing, fast-paced environmentDetail oriented, conscientious and resourcefulAbility to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentComplete verbal and written bilingualism (English and French)Excellent communication skills and team workComputer literate in MS Office package, and comfortable with learning new software packagesKnowledge of CaseWare/CaseView, Lotus Note and Taxprep, an assetWhat Richter offers you ?Our Montréal office is conveniently located on McGill College Avenue.
