Position Summary Reporting directly to the President, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for the overall financial operations by managing the company’s accounting functions, including establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures.

This position will have 1-2 direct reports.

You will: Prepare monthly financial and management reports; compare monthly budgetsand forecasts with actual results.

Ensure financial information is complete, accurate and timely.

Analyze results and variances; identifying trends; recommending actions and insights to support management decision-making.

Audit & review financial information to ensure reasonability; liaise with external auditors.

Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting cycles.

Create sales and other management reports that can provide data visualization value.

Provide day-to-day management and reporting of sales data.

Monitor and update standard costs and reconcile inventory.

Calculate landed cost and perform margin analysis.

Analyze inventory needs and opportunities to support revenue plans.

Assist with special cross functional projects and related reporting as required (e.G., inventory process improvement initiatives, acquisition integrations, new business requirements, etc.).

Support financial components of projects by managing budgets, creating forecasts, reviewing analytics, propose or revise pricing, review actual against budgeted hourly contributions of resources etc.

Plan, coordinate and execute various ad hoc queries and reports used by all management levels in development of key strategy and operational decision-making.

Monitor and reconcile tax installments, remittances, and refunds.

Bank and credit card reconciliation.

Maintain systematic, accurate processing of all accounts payable, employee expense reports and credit card payments according to company terms and policies.

Payroll, insurance, incentive programs, benefit plans (review annually, monitor and report on to management and key management sponsors).

Other tasks, financial and non/financial, as required.

You will bring: 5 years general accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.

Degree in accounting, finance, or similar field.

Demonstrated proficiency with: All Microsoft products, with strong concentration in Excel, including the use of pivot tables, charts, graphs, and complex formulas.

Advanced experience in ERP business software.

Intermediate to advanced experience in MS Dynamics Great Plains a strong asset.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Works with a sense of urgency – independently and with minimal supervision.

Detail oriented; inherent ability to take initiative.
