Global Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and Talent Management

Ballard has a brand-new opportunity for a dynamic Global Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and Talent Managemen t leader to implement the DE&I vision by creating and supporting the execution of the corporate strategies, policies, and programs.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Global Director, DE&I and Talent Managemen t will play a pivotal role in leading and executing Ballard’s global DE&I strategy.

This will include assessment of current state, recommendations for future programs, practices and strategies to plan for future state as Ballard continues to grow and scale.

The ideal candidate will play a significant and instrumental role as a subject matter expert working collaboratively across all areas of the organization to educate, engage, and create momentum to inspire inclusive leaders for a better world, in collaboration with their P&C Leadership team and the SLT.

RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, drive and deliver DE&I programs across the global enterprise; build the DE&I roadmap and collaborate to ensure policy adoption.

Develop tracking strategies to monitor and evaluate impact of programs; develop reports on program effectiveness and make recommendations for program enhancement and improvement.

Partner with peers and senior leaders to create a framework to proactively address current and future Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Action needs, by analyzing current workforce data, employee engagement surveys, and external research, to support the organization’s current and future objectives.

Provide expertise as an inclusive leader who consistently removes barriers to equity so that everyone feels a sense of belonging Assist in building inclusive and respectful cultures, leveraging the diversity in their teams to ensure creativity, innovation, productivity, excellent customer service and highly satisfactory work environments Lead and enable company-sponsored Employee Resource Groups to ensure alignment with business objectives and DE&I mindset Partner with Global Learning & Development team on inclusive learning strategy to ensure that DE&I strategies are integrated into all the company’s leadership and learning programs.

Partner with the People & Culture organization, including Talent Acquisition colleagues, to design, develop and integrate key DE&I solutions into recruitment and development processes, in order to attract, develop and retain the best talent.

Manage and inform on DE&I communications together with senior leaders, partnering closely with the corporate communications team.

Develop and maintain organizational metrics, provide appropriate updates on progress, recommend actions to support achievement of goals, and assess overall effectiveness of DEI initiatives.

Chair and organize the agenda for scheduled DE&I Committee meetings Undertakes all other duties and projects as may be assigned QUALIFICATIONS Relevant educational qualifications, including a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either Sciences or Arts (preferably in HR, Business, or related field) or equivalent experience.

10 years’ progressive experience implementing diversity and inclusion programs in complex, high growth fast-paced organizations.

Proven leadership experience in managing across functional relationships; can both blend into the company’s corporate culture while at the same time acting as an agent of change for process and system improvement Experience developing strategies and executing initiatives that drive measurable results within the context of the organization’s talent Strong global mindset, understanding of various global cultures, and knowledge of global diversity.

Inspirational style that will challenge/inspire colleagues/partners to achieve business results; clear understanding of business operations and DE&I priorities, and able to articulate them to audiences within and outside the organization Advanced relationship-management experience and consulting skills, with a superior ability to influence, lead, engage and build consensus across various levels of leaders through collaboration and influence Evidence of developing and implementing industry-leading best practices Strong executive presence and mindset Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to inspire, motivate and mobilize team and colleagues Confidence, maturity, and credibility to communicate and facilitate in a clear and compelling manner at all levels of the organization Able to thrive in fast moving and ambiguous environments Ability to align and adjust milestone and targets to maintain forward momentum Ability to travel, as required by business Our Values Listen & Deliver | Quality.
