The Accountant will be part of a dynamic team and provide everyday support to the finance team and will report directly to the Controller.The successful candidate for this position will have 1-3 years of experience in accounting, be highly detailed and have strong written and verbal communication skills.Responsibilities: Bank reconciliation for all corporate entitiesMaintain and posting of all journal entries related to corporate and fund activitiesReview and reconcile all intercompany transactionsPrepare month end entries and accruals to support financial reportingPrepare month end budget to actual variance analysisPrepare monthly cash flow analysisProcess A/R, A/P and expense reports for all entitiesMaintain recordkeeping of expensesRecord daily trades and trades reconciliationMaintain corporate filingsSupport and prepare annual corporate tax returnsProcess and remit GST/HST/PST tax filingsSupport with implementing policies, changes and controls leading to best practice operationsDevelop and implement process improvementsOther duties as requiredPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSPost-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldActively working towards a CPA designation will be considered an assetPrevious experience with QuickBooks and Profile tax softwareUnderstanding and experience in full cycle accountingAbility to systematically manage a challenging workload and meet stringent deadlinesHighly organized and keen eye for detail to ensure accuracyStrong verbal, written and listening communication skillsProficient skills in ExcelInterested applicants should submit their resume and covering letter (in PDF format) to citing ‘Accountant’ in the subject line.
