The Sr.

Analyst / Associate will be an active member of the Private Equity team on all aspects of the direct investing and portfolio company monitoring process including; investment screening, financial and accounting analysis, industry and sector analysis, transaction due diligence, preparation of investment recommendation memos, post-investment monitoring activities, working with portfolio companies, as well as researching general private equity trends.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE As an Senior Analyst / Associate, Direct Private Equity, you’ll:Perform preliminary analysis of investment opportunities – company and market research, financial and valuation analysis, meetings with prospective partners and advisors, industry expert interviews, etc.Assist in in due diligence – assess investment merits and risks (incl.

commercial, ESG, financial, etc.), meet with management teams and review of documentationAssist and/or build financial models, including business plan modeling and LBO analysisPrepare and present investment recommendation memorandums and other internal/external materialsContribute to post-investment monitoring activities and interact with portfolio companies’ management teams, potentially with a Board of Directors observer role WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR People who strive for excellence, challenge the status quo and seek alternative perspectives Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with full proficiency in financial modelling (both operating and LBO)Effective communications skills, both written and spokenHave a passion for investing and a curiosity for learning about new business models, industries and sectorsProactive attitude and deep sense of ownership and initiativeAttention to detail and rigorous approach to research, analysis and documentationAbility to work collaboratively, cultivating meaningful relationships with colleaguesHave the desire and ability to live in Montreal, and a willingness to travel WHAT YOU’LL NEED Have a track record of superb academic achievement and professional advancementUndergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.

MBA, CFA and/or CA designation is considered an assetOne (1) to three (3) years of experience within an investment banking (Leverage Finance/M&A), management consulting, accountancy or direct investment environment, with relevant exposure to transactions and investment analysisFluent in English; both written and verbalPSP Investments is an equal opportunity employer.
