Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Executive Director, Practice Management, the Senior Consultant, Practice Management is responsible for contributing to the development of the strategic direction of practice management solutions for CIBC Private Wealth Management.  The Senior Consultant plays a key role in establishing the framework for the practice management business in all lines of business in Private Wealth Management(PWM). The focus is to work primarily with Private Banking and the Wealth Planning group to help them improve business practices to increase revenue and market share.  In addition, the role is responsible for aligning planning with all business units. This role requires the incumbent to be fluent in French & English both written and orally.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Practice Management- You will work in collaboration with the Executive Directors in Practice Management & Strategic Advisory Programs, Training and Development and the Regional Leads in PWM and Wealth Planning. Working with these partners to explore innovative ways to deliver content. Work with the content development team to communicate content requirement to support efforts in the field. You will support the following groups below with delivering practice management solutions.
  • Private Banking
    • Increase sales effectiveness by delivering practice management solutions to help build high performing teams, streamline business processes, and assist Private Banking Advisors in developing deeper, long-term relationships with their clients that incorporates financial planning and the integrated offer.
    • Assist Advisors in creating a compelling vision for their business
    • Utilize analytics to target gaps in private banking practice
    • Measure engagements to support effectiveness of practice management activities
  • Wealth Planning Group
    • Increase sales effectiveness by delivering practice management solutions to help build a high performing planning team that is effective in working with all partners in PWM. Drive process to ensure a consistent, efficient, and effective plan delivery. Also, coach to support effective collaboration with partners. Utilize analytics to target performance factors to bring planner up to capacity for monthly planning targets and new business
  • CPIC Investment Counsellors
    • Increase sales effectiveness by delivering practice management solutions to help build high performing teams, streamline business processes, and assist CPIC ICs in developing deeper, long-term relationships with their clients that incorporates financial planning and the integrated offer.
    • Assist CPIC ICs in creating a compelling vision for their business
    • Measure engagements to support effectiveness of practice management activities
  • Trust STECs
    • Increase sales effectiveness by delivering practice management solutions to help build high performing teams, streamline business processes
  • Growth of Existing Business- Be a key participant on the practice management team to support key Private Wealth Management(PWM) goals. You will work collaboratively with the Executive Director, Practice Management and PWM leadership to align with the overall PWM strategic direction. Work with teams to evaluate their current business, and identify existing opportunities for improved business growth, more integration of partners, efficiency and client satisfaction.

Who You Are

  • You have experience in. Experienced and highly developed knowledge of the wealth management business, including the integrated wealth management approach, with 8 to 10 years of experience in the industry. Well-developed knowledge of practice management solutions at a tactical level as it relates to the private banking and financial planning business. Strong knowledge of high-net-worth client segment. Knowledge of banking and investment products and comfort in communicating this information to Private Bankers.  Possesses the ability to identify business opportunities and implement successful strategies. Requires awareness of business issues, processes, and outcomes as they impact CIBC Private Wealth Management and our clients. Superior coaching, communication, and presentation skills. Well-developed influencing skills with strong business acumen.  Ability to collect information, analyze and manipulate data.  Applying strong analytical/conceptual skills and knowledge in creative ways to solve general or ambiguous business issues/challenges/problems
  • You are fluent in English and French. French oral and written skills are required.
  • You are a certified professional. Financial Planning Designation is an asset. (CFP, PFP, IQPF)
