Chief Advisor Technology and Cyber Risk Management

National Bank

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted November 15, 2023.

As a Chief Advisor, Technology and Cyber Risk Management at National Bank, you’ll be part of the Technology and Cyber Risk Management team, serving as a specialist on the second line of defence.

Your role

• Participate in meetings with stakeholders to critically evaluate IT and information security topics.

• Serve as a collaborative professional, encouraging the team and stakeholders to properly manage IT and cybersecurity risks in accordance with the Bank’s guidelines and industry best practices.

• Validate and arbitrate the risks assessed under the risk scenarios.

• Draw up and manage a roadmap and strategy to support risk management functions related to cybersecurity and IT.

• Define and produce cybersecurity and IT risk management indicators.

• Build strong relationships with peers to ensure risk management by implementing the technological vision.

• Anticipate problems and difficult situations and take the necessary measures to resolve them.

• Coach targeted stakeholders as needed to ensure the transfer of critical knowledge in cybersecurity and IT risk management.

Pre-requisites:

• University degree in a related field and 7 years of relevant experience in risk management

• Experience in cybersecurity in a key governance, risk or compliance function

• In-depth knowledge of a number of information security domains (CBK)

• In-depth knowledge of a number of security standards, such as NIST 800-xx, PCI DSS, CSA, C2M2, COBIT x, GDPR, HIPAA, ISO2700x, SOX and Interac

• Experience in various information technology domains

• Excellent knowledge of security in cloud environments and web technology

• Experience in managing a number of projects and initiatives simultaneously
