Construction and preventative maintenance director

UAP’s success is a team effort, driven by our shared commitment to excellence!, UAPReporting to the vice-president of corporate planning and development, you will be part of a team that contribute to the company’s evolution and growth in the following areas: corporate planning, optimization of distribution networks, and construction and preventative maintenance.

In collaboration with our regional managers and the logistics and distribution team, you will coordinate major construction and development projects involving stores (NAPA and Traction) and warehouses (NAPA and TW) across Canada.

In addition, you will oversee the UAP preventative maintenance and building inspection program.Your responsibilities will include ensuring that activities related to major construction projects run smoothly and efficiently, from implementation to delivery.

You will lead teams of professionals (e.g., engineers and architects) and specialists from the construction sector while controlling costs and budgets, as well as administer contracts and deadlines.

Furthermore, you will create and maintain a close relationship with UAP’s clients (i.e., stores, distribution centres, and regional and head office vice-presidencies), professionals, and building contractors.

You will also ensure the quality of the work at every stage.

Finally, you will implement management procedures tailored to each project.

LI-MJR We are seeking a perfectly bilingual senior project manager with a proven track record (over 12 years of experience) and a recognized university degree in mechanical engineering, construction engineering, civil engineering, or architecture.

The ideal candidate should have experience working in distribution centres and stores.

Excellent knowledge of the equipment and automation processes found in distribution centres is a valuable asset.

The incumbent should also have extensive knowledge of current codes and standards (NBC, NFC, NFPA, etc.) and the municipal and governmental regulatory frameworks and assessment and approval process for building projects.
