Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality (Extended Reality/XR) technology have the potential of creating new ways of working to review, collaborate and create.This position is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team responsible for Autodesk’s XR position doing research and proof of concepts to demonstrate XR value.

Our team will guide product groups across Autodesk to ultimately deliver XR workflows to our customers.

In this role, you will be reporting into the Experience Design organization, dotted line to the Sr.

Product Manager for XR.A successful candidate possesses strong design principles, and a strong experience in generating, testing and refining ideas, from concept to implementation.

VR/AR/MR experiences are new and evolving rapidly, and we need someone on the team to help us build best-in-class experiences to allow us to demonstrate the value of XR to our execs and product team partners.

Position location in Toronto or Montreal.ResponsibilitiesAssist in customer research and analytics activities, to outline present conditions and gain insights into future areas of developmentConnect with users, to identify and validate their pain points and prioritiesWork with product management to analyze customer requirements and articulate suitable directionsTeam up with fellow designers to provide feedback, cooperate, and share best practices across the organizationAdopt patterns from the Autodesk unified design system and contribute back to its evolutionCollaborate with software developers to explore new capabilities, assess constraints and ensure feasibilityGenerate design artifacts (user stories, ideation sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups, task flows, storyboards and prototypes) to support the communication, evaluation and implementation of new design solutionsCraft design directions and specifications that support an iterative development process, in a timely mannerPresent designs to wide range of audiences including users, management, engineering and quality assuranceMinimum Qualifications5+ years of experience in UX designExperience in 3D modeling tools, and AR/VR/MRExcellent verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into easy to understand conceptsAbility to work in a user-centered development environment, where designs are created, iterated, and developed within a highly collaborative cross functional teamAdvanced proficiency with design support tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Invision, OmniGraffle, Framer or similar applicationsAbility to solve complex problems and drive projects from concept to conclusion; work independently, manage multiple tasks, and set priorities with direction and/or feedback from management and teammatesAbility to set and communicate clear expectations and deliver on them in a dynamic environment across multiple time zones and a diverse workforceRockstar collaboratorAbility to work in a start-up fashion even within a big company (things will move fast)Experience in an agile development environmentPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, other relevant fields, or equivalent knowledge gained through work experienceExcellent skills in problem definition and analysis; ability to identify anddescribe the “right” problem from a set of data of varying typesTechnical background and/or a demonstrable understanding of modern software development processes and concerns as they relate to designHighly adaptive with an ability to organize, coordinate, and execute on detailsFamiliarity with customer research methodsAbility to develop high-fidelity interactive prototypesGame engine experience with either Unity or UnrealKnowledge of Universal Scene Description format (USD)At Autodesk, we’re building a diverse workplace and an inclusive culture to give more people the chance to imagine, design, and make a better world.
