POSITION OVERVIEW The Designer, User Experience – Mobile is responsible for the global user experience vision in the development of multiple mobile applications.

He or she ensures global cohesiveness and engaging user experience across multiple applications for a best-in-class user experience.

He or she collaborates with various specialists, mainly working closely with analysts from the identification of a business need to the ideation, leading usability testing with business users to the implementation and improvement of the mobile application’s user experience.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET Develop the user experience for mobile applications for internal and external users.

Provide all necessary artifacts to facilitate in-house application development, including elements of visual design, designing wireframes representative of the user’s path.

Communicate directly with the application’s product owner and users to understand their experience and usage, and collect and integrate feedback.

Validate different iterations to ensure they meet the needs expressed by business users.

Ensure a consistent “look and feel” across all mobile applications and other channels, aligned with branding guidelines and supporting business goals while working closely with graphic designers and the branding team and keeping abreast of graphic design trends and best practices within BDC’s guidelines.

Collaborate with analysts in developing personas and writing user stories for complete understanding of the global applications context delivered to end users.

Propose innovative and creative concepts.

Act as a representative of the mobile expertise team in various initiatives and projects in order to ensure alignment of the user experience across different platforms.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, human-computer interaction or a related field, or equivalent experience A minimum of nine years of experience, including at least five years optimizing applications and user experience and performing needs analysis; also at least five years in graphic design of mobile applications Great attention to detail and strong conceptual skills Ability to develop and maintain a relationship of trust with business partners Ability to work independently and as a part of a team Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Experience with tools such as Sketch and Zeplin Experience in requirements analysis and ideation workshops Experience in direct client interaction Experience solving complex user experience challenges, and creating wireframes and high-quality visual designs Experience working with multiple vendors Experience in usability testing and customer research, an asset Design skills, an asset Excellent oral and written communication skills, in both official languages EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER At BDC, we value diversity in our workforce and encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
