The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Analyst, Data &reporting. This job is full-time permanent.
In this newly created position, you will become a key member of a growing business intelligence team. You will work in a team whose goal is to configure data models and give the various business departments the tools and autonomy needed for sound data-driven decisions. You will collaborate with architects, application analysts and business departments.
Your challenges:
- Analyze the needs of the various business departments;
- Understand the company’s data model to translate it and effectively structure data to enable self-service reporting;
- Play an influential leadership role in establishing and maintaining an effective data governance model comprised of IT and business representatives;
- Build business data cubes that meet the needs of the company’s different business lines;
- Identify future Power BI reporting needs and work with business departments to create a delivery roadmap based on needs and priorities;
- Monitor and promote best practices for the design of Power BI reports;
- Build and maintain Power BI reports and tables;
- Update system documentation.
Your team:
- Reporting to the Application Manager – Business Intelligence, you will be part of a dynamic group recognized for its sense of initiative and true team spirit.
- Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline or equivalent experience;
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in data model implementation and data governance in a similar position;
- Recent experience in developing reports and KPIs with Microsoft’s suite of tools;
- Hands-on experience with various BI projects or teams.
Your skills:
- Practical experience in creating data models and implementing data governance within multidisciplinary teams;
- Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining an enterprise-wide data model that supports development of self-service reports;
- Experience in executing various ETLs;
- Proficiency in data modeling in a multilayer cloud environment;
- Excellent knowledge of reporting tools, such as Power BI as well as knowledge of Data Lake concepts and Data Warehousing with Microsoft tools;
- Knowledge of SQL Server and relational databases is an asset;
- Understanding of SQL and willingness to learn advanced SQL;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to deliver quality results on time or even ahead of schedule;
- Motivation, judgment and decision-making skills;
- Excellent communication skills in English and French and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly;
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to manage tasks and priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
