Job Description :

Cloud Application and Integration Architect:

The specialist plays a key role in the activities of Cogeco’s application integration practice. This role focuses on the evolution and the support of the applications such as Workday, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, ESRI ArcGIS, OfficeVibe, ServiceNow, Salesforce. The specialist is responsible for functionally architecturing, developing and maintaining system integrations and components, including but not limited to: application to application integrations, services, back-end and front-end solution design and development, internal and external API and file transfer within a Workday, GCP environment and other applications/systems within Cogeco. Knowledge of Workday Reporting tools and Core Connectors is desirable. The role will also require some support activities. 

What you will do: 

● Act as liaison between the product development team and the support team during design to identify and agree on technical requirements to deliver impactful new capabilities.

● Document technical, integration and process related requirements.

● Configure integration middleware in the Development & Integration environments. 

● Work with subject matter experts and knowledgeable support staff to understand technical and application integration requirements. 

● Evaluate, test and perform changes to applications and processes as requested whilst following approval process. 

● Support the yearly auditing activities.

● Design main aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as middleware and infrastructure (almost exclusively cloud GCP based).

● Collaborate with key project team members to validate expected results are in line with business requirements.

● Perform design and code reviews.

● Provide technical leadership to the application development team.

● Support internal customers in their process / product design activities.

You have: 

● Ability to design and implement solutions involving SaaS and Cloud technologies using Python or Java with minimum supervision.

● A good understanding of best security practices.

● Ability to provide a detailed testing plan (TDD, scenarios, negative testing, failure modes,  etc..).

● Proven problem solving skills when challenged by different issues and business requirements

● Develop and maintain architecture models, technical capability models and roadmaps for digital products and product categories in Enterprise Architecture repository.

● Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively and work in a fast paced environment.

● Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to uncover root cause and evaluate different solution options.

● Proven subject matter expert in the design of integration solutions.


● Undergraduate Degree (BS/BA or equivalent combination of education/experience).

● 3 years of experience in working in the context of Cloud solutions.

● Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Storage, BQ, Cloud functions, etc.) is an asset.

● Experience with SOAP / REST web services (API).

● Experience with data structures (databases, JSON, XML, SQL).

● Experience in aligning application development with business needs.

● A team player and a dependable performer with excellent work ethics.

● Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills and thorough testing skills. 

● Experience with architecting solutions that drive the DevOps culture and delivers incremental value using CI/CD.

● Experience with major public cloud providers e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure Architecture – is a must.
