What you will be doing: As part of the DevOps and Cloud Operations team, you will have the opportunity to work on a highly distributed enterprise micro-service SaaS platform.

You will be responsible for developing, designing, testing and maintaining WorkJam’s database infrastructures.

In addition, you will be responsible for administrating cloud hosted database, including provisioning new cluster, performance tuning, monitoring and supporting the of the production databases.

Responsibilities include: Administer, provision and monitor all database instances in order to provide 24×7 uptime and availability across multiple data centers.

Deploy database changes and first line database support.

Troubleshoot database issues and performance tuning.

Communicate and review database solutions, technical, applications with DevOps and Application Developers to ensure scalability, integrity and security of databases.

Collaborate with other teams to solve technical issues.

Provide reports with insights and recommendations.

Prepare documentation regarding database design, configuration and change management tasks.

Design and improve internal processes for the database development.

Help refining practices/methodologies for successful project delivery.

What you need to bring to this position: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in database administration.

Fundamental understanding of SQL and NoSQL core concepts.

Willing to learn new data engine technology such as Cassandra.

Willing to always improve database administrator tasks.

Solid problem-solving ability using statistics, analytics and reports.

Ability to work anywhere in the stack: code, container, OS, cloud provider.

Experience with distributed systems and cloud operations (AWS and GCP).

Understanding automation from a business perspective.

Bilingual; strong written and verbal communication skills (English & French).
