Legal and Compliance Advisor


This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted January 5, 2022.

What to expect when joining the team

Reporting to the Director of Legal Affairs and Compliance, you will act as an advisor for all legal and regulatory compliance issues of the company. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the laws and regulations to which the company is subject as part of our pan-Canadian and international operations.

Your daily life

Based out of Quebec or Montreal, you will be led to :

  • Advise and support members of the various departments in contractual relations as well as in the sound management of regulatory risks for which they are responsible;
  • Actively participate in the establishment of various compliance programs, the preparation of the necessary documentation as well as the maintenance of associated records;
  • Support the delegate for the protection of personal information and influence the organization towards the use of best practices in this area, in accordance with Quebec, Canadian and international standards;
  • Review, draft and negotiate the various agreements within the organization;
  • Ensure legislative monitoring in order to notify and support stakeholders who may be impacted;
  • Advise and lead the various spheres of the company in matters of legislation and law;
  • Disseminate the information necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the business;
  • Communicate and collaborate with all team members to ensure optimal alignment with business opportunities and priorities.

Your profile

Do you have significant experience in the legal and privacy sector? Are you independent and action-oriented? Do you have good negotiating skills and demonstrate good judgment and integrity?   • A bachelor’s degree in law as well as experience in matters of personal information;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business law;
  • Complete spoken and written bilingualism (French / English);
  • Good computer skills;
  • Experience and understanding of the SaaS sales model (major asset);
  • Excellent interpersonal negotiation skills;
  • Proven writing skills;
  • An excellent sense of organization;
  • Judgment and an innate sense of integrity;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation;
  • An intrapreneurial spirit, autonomy and strong technical skills.
