Who we need Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance, we are looking for a Payroll Manager to join our team.

You will be fully accountable for the full cycle payroll process.

You will oversee the accurate and timely onboarding of employees from our new acquisition while simultaneously taking the lead in the implementation of the new Dayforce payroll system.

What you will focus on Lead.

You will play a critical role in implementing the new HR and payroll system Dayforce for payroll functions and actively participate in other projects as assigned, including onboarding new employees as a result of our latest acquisition.

Full cycle payroll processing in Ceridian Payroll environment.

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for salaried and hourly employees within two separate legal entities.

You will ensure compliance with all employment legislation and regulatory guidelines such as EHT, CPP/QPP, QPIP, CSST, EI, Income Tax, benefit contributions, etc., including any Federal and Provincial Reporting and filing.

You will supervise Payroll Analyst and ensure proper process documentation and backup for all essential payroll functions.

Maintain employee files.

You will process salary increases, bonuses, etc., following company policies and in conjunction with our Human Resources Department.

You will process changes such as new hires, terminations, etc., and administer year-end payroll processing, tax forms and filings as needed.


You will identify and enhance continuous process improvement related to payroll processing and related reporting.

You will stay current with federal/provincial legislation, changes, and best practices to ensure the payroll is compliant and effective.


You will work closely with the HR department and related companies, payroll service providers, employees, auditors and other stakeholders.

You will provide financial information to prepare the annual budget, forecasts, intercompany and other reports and fulfill requests for reconciliations, requisitions, month-end close and year-end audit.

What you bring The experience.

You have a relevant diploma or degree, and you are a Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) .

You have 5 years of experience administering Canadian, including Quebec, payroll and benefits using Ceridian / Dayforce.

You are proficient with MS Office.

In addition, you have 2 years of supervisory experience overseeing and guiding the work of payroll analysts.

The project management skills.

You ask intelligent questions to obtain information, identify root causes, and determine solutions.

You are highly organized, able to balance and change priorities, anticipate and respond to issues, and manage details.

You have critical thinking and problem-solving techniques and can quickly adapt and take action.

You have a good business sense, continuously seek opportunities for improvement and process change, and implement plans to address those changes.

The interpersonal skills.

You have flexible and effective communication skills.

You can build strong relationships within and across teams and confidently work with any level of stakeholder.

You have a genuine interest in understanding others, hearing their perspectives, and addressing their concerns.
