Personnel Officer, Training and Organisational Development

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted November 18, 2020.

Person, who designs, analyses, assesses and applies professional techniques in human resources with a view to ensure optimal performance.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
– TEAM LEADER:
– Supports the Coordinator Human Resources Development to develop and implement the CBHSSJB Annual Training Plan, including the monitors and reporting of all expenses linked to training;
– Establishes and maintains effective communications with the various human resources departments, the organization and the MSSS
– Participates in the elaboration of department policies and procedures and ensures communication and comprehension to team members;
– Participates in the welcoming and integration of new members of the team;
– Participates in the development of the objectives of the department and provides communication and understanding to the members of the team;
– Ensures effective coordination of the daily activities of the department according to: availability of team members and organizational priorities;
– Participates in the management of work schedules to ensure continuity of services and coverage of colleagues absences; AS NEEDED:
– Coordinates logistics related to training, including participant lists, contact list and information for trainers, hotels, meeting rooms, travel, catering and materials;
– Provides hands on training support, including partnering with local contacts to ensure the provision of on-site support and, once the training is completed, will verify that invoices are aligned with contracts and initial documentation; REQUIREMENTS: Education:
– Bachelor’s degree in administration, human resources management, industrial relations or any other university discipline related to the position.

Experience:
– Three (3) years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Abilities:
– Knowledge of MSSS legislation, regulations, the Ministry Network and programs, and current trends;
– Knowledge of First Nation health/social service models, trends and issues is an asset;
– Knowledge of Cree culture, language, and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset;
– Ability to review and implement processes;
– Ability to review and organize teamwork;
– Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with all managers, union partners and other employees of the organization;
– Ability to handle ambiguous situations and make decisions in a complex environment;
– Proven leadership, sense of innovation and creativity;
– Strong Office Suite computer skills.

Language:
– Fluent in English;
– Fluency in Cree and/or French is an asset.

Other:
– Willing to travel as needed.
