Job Description :

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing Corporate Cogeco’s technology needs and ensuring they are meeting the organization’s objectives efficiently and reliably. Single point of contact with the senior leadership team to translate their business needs into technical solutions. Overall accountability for relationships with internal customers as needed and seeing the solution/deployment/request through. Responsible for identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and facilitating the overall harmonization of enterprise tools and governance. Continuously gains an understanding of Cogeco’s operations and processes and how systems are used in support of those operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executive point of contact into corporate IT team;

  • Lead the implementation of new technology and systems across multiple teams and/or business units; 

  • Ownership of enterprise IT tooling that drives standardization and makes significant improvements to processes and systems; 

  • Lead initiative to improve IT support program for the corporate team and improve relationship between inter-BU support teams through coaching and guidance;

  • Understand, analyze and elicit requirements, develop processes, support solution delivery across multiple departments and/or business units;

  • Be a strong communicator to engage senior leadership to address their business needs with limited oversight;

  • Maintain existing programs and requests, seeing that necessary updates are made and required standards, training and guidelines are maintained;

  • Report progress and challenges to senior management and influence decisions on practices and procedures; 

  • Prioritize short and long term objectives; 

  • Assess the cost and benefits of the product or service and takes the recommendations to the Director and/or Executives for approval;

  • Preparation of testing guidelines, system documentation including Requirements Matrix and Solution Design Specification documents;

  • Synthesizes information into succinct, concise and logical summaries and report;

  • Takes ownership for high quality internal, external, and business unit stakeholder communications.

 

ACADEMIC TRAINING:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or B.S. in Engineering.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years experience engaging with IT professionals and articulating business requirements into business processes, guidelines and solutions;

  • Experience with ITIL;

  • Designing, prototyping, user testing, refinement and end-user training process for implementations;

  • Functional knowledge of business systems, design, development & implementation methods (OMG BPMN);

  • Project management experience – budgeting, planning, scheduling;

  • Experience writing user stories, use cases, walkthroughs, facilitating meetings with IT;

  • Experience foreseeing issues and troubleshooting them proactively;

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding Agile and waterfall methodologies.

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • Strong technical foundation of cloud-based applications as well as understanding of business processes & operations;

  • Functional knowledge in cloud-based technologies (SaaS, APIs);

  • Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills;

  • Knowledge of all phases of the development lifecycle;

  • Strong problem solving skills. You must be passionate about your ability to always find solutions to customers’ needs;

  • Knowledge of Attlasian technologies (Jira, Bitbucket & Confluence);

  • Bilingual is an asset – French & English.
