Senior Consultant – Pension Consulting

Your role:

Within our dynamic and diverse team of Retirement & Financial Solutions, the candidate will assume a strategic role in the management and supervision of various mandates related to pension plans, they will build and develop client relationships and work collaboratively with other members of the team in order to answer to specific client requests.

Responsibilities :

  • Act as a team leader and validate the process of actuarial valuations for funding and accounting purposes

  • Collaborate in various work related to the administration of pension plans

  • Collaborate in the design of pension plans

  • Provide strategic advice on all matters relating to pension plans

  • Attend meetings, drafts reports, presentations, and plan materials for clients

  • Assist with special projects and tasks, as required

  • As a team leader, ensure delivery of high-quality work that meets legislative requirements and client needs

  • Build and maintain excellent relations with clients and internal colleagues

  • Work with current and prospective clients to grow business

  • Act as a mentor to junior team members, supporting their growth and development​

  • Participate in ongoing professional development

  • Contribute to internal development projects

Succeeding as an Senior Consultant will require the following core qualifications and skills:

  • University degree in actuarial mathematics or actuarial science

  • Have FCIA designation or be in the process of obtaining it

  • 7-15 years of experience in pension plan consulting

  • In-depth, detailed knowledge of actuarial valuation process

  • Very good knowledge of pension plan legislation and actuarial standards of practice

  • Combination of excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong work ethic

  • Exceptional client focus with strong professional acumen

  • Have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and ease in developing good interpersonal relationships

  • Very good organizational skills

  • Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence

  • Master the Microsoft Office suite

  • Bilingual (English and French), oral and written
