He/She will lead a multi-disciplinary team in its day-to-day activities and deliver the product roadmap on a highly complex and high-impact area of the business.

The Developer is a technical reference in the pillar, ensuring developments meet quality, design, and coding standards.

The Tech Lead has the ownership of all components developed by the squad, either directly or indirectly, and has accountability for their SLAs.

The ideal candidate will play a key coaching role for other Developers on the pillar through coaching, rigorous code reviews, and contributing to knowledge dissemination across the organization.ResponsibilitiesProduct deliveryAnticipate the technical challenges the squad will face and come up with technical solutions to those issuesWrite testable, efficient, and reusable code suitable for continuous integration and deployment, that respect best practices and SSENSE development standardsAbility to explain technical concepts to a wide audience and explain trade-offs between maintainability and business value.Raise the bar for professional software development by practicing it and helping others learn the craft through rigorous code reviews and coachingTeam leadership & coachingDrive an effective and efficient scrum process where all team members work in the same direction Guide Developers when needed to break down user stories into manageable componentsDevelop a deep understanding of the Product roadmap for the squad and influence it with fact-based technical argumentsEnsure proper documentation of development activitiesEnsure the demo of features developed are well-prepared and presented to business stakeholdersReview Pull Requests with the objective to guide and upskill junior developers on various technical topicsProvide fact-based technical feedback on each squad member to managers as part of the evaluation cycleOwnership and accountabilityBe responsible for the overarching code quality of the components owned by the squad with assistance of a QA AnalystBe accountable for performance, reliability, scalability and resilience of all technical components owned by the squad through SLAs and monitoringArchitectureEnsure soundness of design and technical choices for own component and squad development (scalability, resilience)Coordinate development activities with Technical Leaders and ensure appropriate levels of validationContribute to the definition of standards across the department and evangelize them in the squadRecruitingParticipate to HR recruiting events, helping to identify and recruit top developersRequirementsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, Master’s degree an assetA minimum of 7 years of experience building complex iOS applications using Swift (Objective-C an asset).Strong expertise in a microservices architectureProficiency with cloud resources (AWS/Google Cloud/Azure) with the ability to operate them for the components owned, Certification preferredExpertise with RDBMS and NoSQL databases at scaleFamiliarity with caching technologies (Fastly, Redis, Varnish) with the ability to scale, shard and improve resiliency by leveraging advanced caching conceptsAbility to use containers (Docker) and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes, Giant Swarm, etc.)Proficiency in GitStrong written and verbal communication skills in English, French an asset.
