Located in downtown Montreal, one of our clients is an international charterer. Manufacturers of their own boats, they are looking for an industrial buyer who will make purchases for the production and maintenance of the boats.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, here are the responsibilities of the position:
Enable and support the development of a sourcing strategy based on data and user needs;
Implement a strategic sourcing approach for the different expense categories;
Ensure the use of appropriate sourcing tools and strategies based on the needs of internal stakeholders and the market environment;
Lead cross-functional teams through sometimes complex sourcing, evaluation, vendor selection, contract negotiation and onboarding processes; prepare the appropriate documents for this purpose;
Foster continuous improvement with suppliers, our department and our stakeholders;
Develop a network of supply partners that creates a balance between local and global partners and optimizes total cost of acquisition, supply flexibility and innovation;
Contract management, including coordinating the dissemination of contractual requirements and terms and conditions to stakeholders;
Ensure the successful implementation of the various strategies and ensure that we are able to execute them thanks to the multidisciplinary team;
Create and monitor key performance indicators and promote a culture of continuous improvement across spend categories.
* 5-10 years of professional experience in procurement roles of increasing responsibility, including in the following industries: Ship management, shipbuilding, construction, heavy manufacturing, aerospace or national defense;
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, naval architecture, computer science, supply chain, operations management, or equivalent;
* Experience in the maritime sector, with operations on international vessels;
* Supply chain certifications considered an asset: APICS, CPM, SCMP, MCIPS or ISM;
* CAPM or PMP certification considered an asset;
* Basic accounting skills to understand manufacturing cost drivers;
* Ability to successfully negotiate strategic and high-value partnership agreements with Tier 1 and possibly Tier 2 equipment suppliers for the Marine/Naval, Defense and/or Aerospace sectors;
* Proven ability to develop and implement strategies that demonstrate an understanding of business needs and applied solutions;
* Qualification of suppliers, tender process, RFI, RFP, RFQ, tender evaluations / supplier selection;
* Team spirit, ability to solve problems and desire to obtain results;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and French), with experience presenting to senior management;
* Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, work collaboratively and develop own networks;
* Knowledge and understanding of data mining systems and skills (PowerBI, Oracle, SAP, Business Objects, SQL, VBasic, SAS, Excel, Access, etc..
