The Role

He is responsible for testing, maintaining and repairing batteries and industrial chargers at customers’ premises and/or at the company’s branches. This position reports to the Field Service Manager.

• Test, maintain and repair batteries and chargers.
• Communicate daily with the team to determine the work plan.
• Effectively plan and manage time and work.
• Work on the agency’s website and/or visit clients’ homes.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of batteries and chargers.
• Discuss issues and issues with the customer and review recommended repairs.
• Perform safety and functional tests.
• Evaluate repair costs, place orders for necessary parts, and complete the necessary paperwork for the repair.
• Picks up and delivers chargers and other equipment associated with customer service work.
• Installs batteries, chargers, and/or other battery-related equipment, as required, to support customer service work.
• Keep the company vehicle clean, organized, and items properly labeled.
• Make minor repairs to the vehicle, such as replacing the windshield wipers.
• Maintain the vehicle by changing the oil, checking tire pressure, etc.
• Retrieve parts and replenish vehicle inventory.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels for vehicle parts, in accordance with the company’s general management guidelines.
• Maintain all required safety equipment provided with the vehicle.
• Process various administrative documents.
• Complete all required training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

• Ability to safely operate forklifts and service vehicles/vans.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch below knee level, grasp, work with arm outstretched, and work above chest level.
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 100 lbs, stretch above shoulder level, climb stairs, climb ladders, twist, use vibrating tools, and pinch yourself.

Education and qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Valid driver’s license
• Industry-related training and/or one to two years of previous experience (preferred)
• Able to read and understand hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
• Familiarization with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder, and various types of testing equipment.
• Able to read and understand service manuals and microfiche, plan and follow-up.
• Good organizational, customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
