You’ll provide advice covering solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and risk control, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes.

Simply put, you might help analyse the impact that new regulation will have on an insurance company’s balance sheet or you could be revising businesses’ projections and making sure they have adequate reserves.ResponsibilitiesAs an Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Proactively assist the team in various aspects of the projectPrepare deliverablesContribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumenKeep up to date with local and national business and economic issuesEnsure you are adhering to compliance mattersWork on developing internal relationships and your PwC brandYour responsibilities:The successful candidate will be supporting actuarial product teams in a broad range of consulting services and audit support assignments.

The candidate will work closely with our senior actuaries on our appointed actuary services including actuarial liability valuation and dynamic capital adequacy testing, product development, mergers & acquisition, advisory services on new IFRS and a variety of other consulting work.

For audits, the candidate will support the team in re-performing the actuarial liabilities, analyze and review valuation methodologies and assumptions.

As a member of our team, you will work directly with actuaries and other actuarial students on a variety of projects, including cross-functional projects with other departments within PwC.This candidate will also participate in business development activities such as development of service proposals and quotes, industry presentations, marketing material, as well fostering good communication with PwC clients to support relationship building.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with a strong academic background in actuarial science, applied statistics, mathematics or related quantitative disciplinesMust be bilingual (French & English)Actively pursuing the Canadian Institute of Actuaries qualification of FCIA, or recent FCIA3 5 years of experience in the P&C insurance industry.
