Together, we enable the world.We are currently seeking a qualified Design Engineering associate to prepare complex, 3D/CAD design drawings and BOM for engineered systems for customers and manufacturing, in accordance with engineering specifications.

Typical system layouts consist of skid mounted liquid ring pumps, auxiliary mechanical seal support systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation and pressure piping.

The position requires an individual with strong mechanical aptitude and relentless attention to detail.Responsibilities & Requirements:Develop and prepare drawings, plans, P& ID’s, layouts and BOM from engineering specifications.Review and interpret associated design specifications for each projectSelect materials and components based on project specificationsConfirm overall design for functional feasibility with PE and PMOperate 3D CAD station.Verify and implement drawing and BOM revisions due to engineering, customer and manufacturing changes.Recommend design modifications to improve standard products, and develop prototypes where applicable.Recommend design engineering procedure changes and improvements.Adhere to ISO quality procedures and processes for drawing management and controlLiaise with project administrators, system engineering, purchasing, shop and assembly staff as required.Other tasks as assigned by the department supervisor critical to the daily success of Flowserve GuelphSupport other departments on technical queriesCheck and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.Design tanks and pressure vessels utilizing calculations to ensure conformance with engineering specifications and applicable codes.Prepare design layouts of structural bases in accordance with engineering specifications.Perform peer reviews of designs to ensure accuracy to specifications, standards and codes.Use MRP system for BOM entry.Provide assistance to junior CAD DesignersRequirements Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma from an accredited College/University in Mechanical EngineeringCollege Graduates C.E.T.

(or eligible in Ontario)Minimum five (5) years’ experience in industrial pressure piping design using ASME B31.1 and B31.3 preferably chemical, oil & gas sectors.Expert knowledge of 3D modelling and 2D drafting software (SolidWorks or equivalent).Applied experience in 2D drafting standards and techniques including GD& T.Working knowledge of pressure piping design and fabrication in accordance with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 piping codes.

Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 pressure vessel design and fabrication.Experience with structural steel design and fabrication for supporting rotating equipment and piping systems.Experience integrating instrumentation into piping designs including control valves, flow meters and transmitters (pressure, temperature and level).Use of Solidworks 2017 with pipe routing/systems experiencePreferred Experience / Skills:Experience with rotating equipment and pumping systems are considered an asset.
