We are looking for a Senior Energy Management Advisor who will support the Energy Contracts team on all operational and technical considerations associated with managing energy contracts for RTAs Atlantic operational activities, while ensuring communications.

Reporting to the Director, Energy Contracts, you will be responsible for the following: Provide expertise and advice with respect to the negotiation and management of energy contracts on operational matters for RTAs operating facilities in the Atlantic region.

Advise RTAs management teams on strategic energy issues impacting the business and support the development of projects aimed at protecting / increasing the value of the business.

Provide expert support on operational issues related to the economical and reliable energy supply of RTA facilities, as well as the optimization of energy contracts and value creation.

Facilitate end-to-end support for the management of Atlantic RTA activities by providing expertise on technical considerations related to energy contracts.

Participate in internal reviews carried out by RTAs operational units (internal activities, technical services and climate change) relating to energy contracts and energy supply projects.

Advise RTA management on strategic energy and value creation projects associated with reliable energy supply.

Provide technical assistance to engineering and operational employees to optimize the value of energy supply agreements for the business, while mitigating operational risk and maintaining the highest safety standards in the industry.

Provide second or third level technical assistance in resolving issues that remain unresolved.

Evaluate the progress made in energy projects and recommend adjustments as needed with regard to the objectives pursued.

For your application to be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following requirements: A bachelors degree in mechanics or engineering or a related discipline.

At least five (5) years of relevant experience related to industrial processes related to aluminum production or mining activities.

Knowledge and experience of different Rio Tinto operating platforms.

Ability to lead, collaborate and communicate with stakeholders and members of various internal teams, including operational analysis, business development and climate change.

Fluency in French and English.
