We are looking for a Senior Advisor, Environment to provide professional and technical support to the aluminum smelter operations in Kitimat, BC.

The Environmental Team manages various multifaceted environmental portfolios.

Reporting to the HSE Business Partner and working on a Monday to Friday schedule , you will be: Working in accordance with Rio Tinto HSE standards
– actively leading, and engaging in HSE initiatives promoting our “Zero harm” and “Zero Waste” culture; Coaching and supporting operations on environment performance continuous improvement Leading and developing the environment team Collating and reporting environmental data from diverse portfolios, ensuring data quality, coordinating projects and environmental audits (Internal & External) to reduce our risk profile Coordinating sampling and monitoring programs Reporting environmental results which comply with legislative requirements and Rio Tinto standards Interacting with environmental contractors, professionals, experts and key stakeholders Assisting in the development of Management System Standards, procedures, and programs that address environmental risk factors Please note: Fly-in-fly-out arrangements are not available.

What you’ll bring A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team; Tertiary qualification in an environmental discipline or equivalent experience 10 years’ experience in environmental sampling, data processing, statistical analysis, regulatory reporting and environmental permitting Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint Strong report writing, presentation, and communication skills Good strategic capability and an understanding of environmental issues Ability to lead people and groups, and to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels Prior heavy industrial experience is an asset What we offer Be recognized for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you’ve helped the world progress.
