Senior SOX Compliance and Audit Analyst

Located out of our Calgary office, the Senior SOX Compliance and Audit Analyst (“Senior SOX Auditor”) reports to the Supervisor, SOX Compliance and supports the compliance group goals, within the Center function.

The Senior SOX Auditor will be part of an integral team with duties and responsibilities with respect to SOX Compliance and IT Control Assessment.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Commerce Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or other audit-related professional audit-related designation required Additional professional designations considered include: CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) CISA (Certified Information System Auditor) Experience: Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP Familiarity with various internal control and security frameworks (PCOAB Audit Standards, COSO, CoBIT, NIST, etc.) Experience with analytics tools, such as ACL, Alteryx Experience using or auditing SAP or other ERP software Prior experience in midstream, NGL extraction, crude oil optimization, Petro chemicals, or energy trading experience will be an asset Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong or developing negotiation skills Strong organization and follow-up skills, including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitments Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, complex environment and willing to adapt to change.

Solid understanding and ability to apply risk and control concepts.

Ability to give and follow instructions accurately and efficiently; proactive in asking clarifying questions to ensure work effort is directed wholly toward desired outcome.

Key Activities and Responsibilities Conduct or assist in the planning and completion of SOX Compliance, and IT Audit activities.

Walk-through and document relevant business processes, risks, control activities and testing attributes Obtain and review control evidence, ensuring audit conclusions are well-documented Identify and communicate deficiencies raised, offering pragmatic recommended solutions relevant to business and risk Address review notes in a timely manner and remain accountable for task completion Advise the business and control owners in the design of controls for respective areas of SOX 404 implementation and ongoing maintenance Assist in planning and implementing new procedures and providing advice to the business on SOX compliance Always ensure adherence to all applicable department and professional standards Liaise with external auditors in the performance of their internal control activities Assist with SOX contractors design and testing documentation Hours: Monday-Friday fulltime Join a dynamic and professional team who are the “go gathers and problem solvers” As an integral member of the team, you’ll be involved in new and exciting audit assignments.
