Each day, more than 1,000 people work with the YMCAs of Québec network, providing a variety of services that create positive change in people’s lives.
Reporting directly to the Children’s Sports and Activities Coordinator, the Instructor will plan and lead Hip Hop dance sessions for children according to the YMCA’s program framework.
The challenges we are offering
- Plan and teach Hip Hop dance sessions according to course descriptions and the YMCAs of Québec’s guidelines.
- Lead Hip Hop dance sessions in a dynamic way and show leadership.
- Promote the growth and development of children through dance classes.
- Observe participants and provide feedback that encourages learning.
- Follow up on children’s progress, fill in progress reports and the YMCA skills report card.
- Regularly speak with parents and address any concerns or questions quickly and politely.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for participants.
- Foster a feeling of belonging with participants.
- Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures regarding the protection of children and vulnerable people.

To accomplish their mission, the Instructor should:
- Hold a CPR/AED Level C certification or be in the process of getting it.
- Hold a First Aid certificate (an asset).
- Have experience leading workshops for kids.
- Have experience supervising children or experience teaching Hip Hop dance.
- Be old enough to be a sports instructor (16 years of age and older).
- Speak French fluently.
- Speak English fluently (an asset).
- Have no criminal record in connection with employment.
