With over 20,000 members, SSMU’s role is to represent students and to offer services since 1908.Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Recording Secretary will be responsible for taking detailed minutes during Legislative Council meetings, Executive Committee meetings, Board of Directors meetings and General Assemblies.

Theywill prepare document packages, set up the technical equipment before meetings and keepingrecords of all pertinent documents.ResponsibilitiesTake the minutes of Legislative Council, Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings; Take the minutes of the General Assembly, which are held once per semester; Submit the minutes within a period of five (5) days following the meeting to the Governance Manager; Make any necessary corrections to the minutes before and after the President’s approval.Other Responsibilities And Functions To undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Governance Manager or the President.

QualificationsStrong communication skills both in English and French an required; Integrity, goodplanning skills, interpersonal skills, high degree of organization skills; Knowledge of the SSMU website, SSMU mandates and SSMU events and activities.Additional InformationPaid position: $13.92Contract dates: July 1st, 2021 to April 30th 2022; Hours: 125 hours total; Application closes June 15th, 2021.ConfidentialityIt is understood and agreed that all matters to the SSMU and those clubs association or groups forming part of the SSMU are to be kept in the strictest of confidence, and nothing regarding the operations, policies and general activities of the SSMU or its constituent groups shall be divulged to any third party without the express consent of the General Manager and/or the Executive Committee of the SSMU.At the SSMU, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible environment, where everyone feels valued, respected and supported.
