Mainframes Z/OS AdministratorMontreal, Quebec, CanadaFull Time / PermanentJob Description: High Ability to support z/OS Installation, Configuration, Migration and maintenance.
(HiPER, RSU upgrades, PTF, APAR installation, new Hardware/ OS readiness, Data Centre Migration etc.).
Assist Mainframe hardware upgrades Ability to assess system resource requirements and project system impacts.
High Ability to support DR Exercise for zOS environments.
Good in GDPS and DR Scripts.
Experienced SMP/E based zOS installation ISV and IBM products, Good in customization of Mainframe products for client, effectively worked on assembler driven security exits.
Experience in configuring Hardware Management using Automation where applicable (ProcOps).
Designed and Developed REXX Routines & CLIST to automate several tasks which leads to immediate notification of problems to support groups resulting in less down time and faster recovery.
Hands on experience SCLM ISPW and CA Product (Configuration, Installation, Management).
Good working and implementation Knowledge on mainframe z/OS tools HMC, SMP/E, ISPF, VSAM, JCL, JES2, NETVIEW, CA-OPSMVS, CICS, IMS, ADABAS, CA1, CA DB2 RC, Omegamon, TPX, Top-secret by CA, RACF, CA7, BMC Control-M, ZEKE Scheduler, Event stream processing (ESP) Tivoli Workload Scheduler, LRS VPS, RMDS, IBM CMOD, OPSREXX, COBOL etc.
Excellent technical skills, with strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
Strong communication abilities, with history of providing on-site support In-depth knowledge & Hands-on Experience of z/OS Operating Systems, System z Architecture (DASD, LPAR, channels, tapes, IPL process etc.) Manage & Support Automation Products – OPS/MVS,SSM Should have a good understanding on all Subsystems like CICS,DB2, MQ and z/OS operating system and IBM message codes Should have the ability to code programs using in IBM REXX,SQL and Ops Rexx.
Experience in development methodology focusing on design, testing, code peer reviews and validation Support IPL/DR activities.
