One of our clients is a freight forwarder, located in the Côte-Des-Neiges region of Montreal Quebec. They are looking to add a Customer Service Representative, Customs to their team.
This customer service position is for the customs department. Reporting to the Customer Service Director, here are the responsibilities:
* Maintain and develop first class customer relations with the clients via phone and email regarding order shipments, discrepancies, billing, deliveries, etc.
* Ensure that all documents required to release goods are received in good order
* Compile, sort and verify data is accurate and effectively solve potential problems or discrepancies prior to the documentations are sent for processing.
* Contact customers to obtain missing information.
* Communicate with warehouses, freight forwarding companies and trucking companies to inquire about shipments status, resolve related problems or arranging deliveries.
* Manage track and trace shipment status, via electronic monitoring and manual updates.
* Communicate with CBSA and other PGAs to resolve any release issues or inquire about the status of entry.
* Communicate with internal departments (accounting, technical, logistics, etc.) to coordinate shipment or client-specific needs.
Assist and provide guidance to clients on job orders, price quotes, billing, or operational questions.
* Validate and ensure completeness of Client release base on specific profile instructions.
* Perform other general clerical duties.
* Verify data and enter customer information into the system as needed.
* Communicate with customers and open files in the system.
* Communicate reservation confirmations/instructions to the agent.
* Quickly and effectively resolve customer issues, challenges, or discrepancies in performance and service with a third-party service provider.
* Ensure that customer profiles and their specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) are maintained and adhered to.
* Perform other general office duties.
* Completion of High School
* 3 + years of working experience in logistics, ocean or air freight or supply chain
* Strong organizational and time management skills required, including the proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines.
* Knowledge on CBSA regulations, importation documents and transport
* CCS certification is a plus but not mandatory
* Proficient computer skills required (MS Office) and can quickly learn the company software and specific programs.
