As such, you will coordinate, implement and supervise data management and governance strategies, policies and standards to manage the Company’s data heritage and maximize its added value.

You will help execute, promote and ensure adherence to these strategies and strive to align critical data, processes and applications across the organization.

The focus will be on overall data quality, with an emphasis on completeness, accuracy and timeliness in data flow in order to help Ivanhoé Cambridge deliver on its data governance strategy.

Main responsibilities include the following: Manage a team responsible for promoting the consistency, quality, integrity and accessibility of data and shared information; Work to ensure defined parameters are aligned with business rules; Put forward and develop business process and data flows focused on improvement and efficiency; Advise clients on the implementation and tracking of tools and strategies, statistical scoring, business intelligence, data quality and the development of analytical products/solutions; Determine an optimal analytical approach and support its development, implementation and enhancements; Conceptualize, develop and continually optimize operational and management reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making; Analyze results for multiple functions and communicate findings of complex models to a wide range of audiences; Set up an Agile project management approach, with an emphasis on data stewardship operations; Lead and coordinate the activities and members of the data governance work groups; Foster a positive and rewarding work environment for team members; Champion change management as regards data quality to ensure projects are aligned with standards and principles; Deliver in-house training sessions on data quality.

The key to success Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, finance or another quantitative discipline; Ten years of direct or related experience; Programming experience in R and/or Python; Experience working with database languages (e.g., SQL); Experience in AI and automated machine learning algorithms, an asset; Experience in data governance/stewardship; Experience in real estate investment; Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision; Incisive understanding of how to leverage data quality to bring added value to the investment process; Well versed in data life cycle management, data modelling, master data management, enterprise audits and requirements gathering; Solid understanding of business requirements that determine data quality and of how to translate these requirements into quality rules to be executed within the data flow; Ability to work with system users to define requirements; Experience working with a data governance program; knowledge of data governance practices; Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to identify data quality issues and correlate them with data specifications and quality rules; Project management expertise; Keen analytical and problem-solving skills; Talent for conveying information, business processes and system changes to both technical and lay audiences; Ability to manage conflicting priorities and perform under pressure; Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff; Hands-on experience in one or more of the following data management fields: data quality, master data management, data warehousing, metadata or business intelligence; Experience in leading data management initiatives or managing information in a matrix organizational structure; Highly structured and organized; adept at Agile project management; Experience introducing and promoting buy-in with regard to state-of-the-art data quality management solutions; Comfort in resolving issues in areas where pinpointing and addressing the right problems is the key to your impact and your success; Open-minded, action-oriented team player who brings a can-do attitude to the job every day.
