With 75 years of experience and expertise, we are a driven, innovative, and respected organization committed to our employees and customers.We are currently seeking a highly motivated person to assume the Montreal Manager, Taxation position responsible for compliance and involved in planning for both Fednav Limited and Oceanpath (Family Office).

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING | THE ROLE Responsibilities, not limited to the below:Prepare the income tax provision for Fednav and its subsidiariesManage the various tax compliance needs throughout the yearSupport the Director, Taxation with ad-hoc tax researchProvide tax support and guidance to the internal business stakeholders on income tax mattersAdvise business partners, such as the Legal Department, Human Resources, Treasury, Finance and others; with respect to tax matters as they pertain to Fednav, Oceanpath and its subsidiariesManage the various intercompany transactions of Fednav and its affiliatesWork in close collaboration with other team members on income tax compliance matters for Fednav and its subsidiaries (such as T2, T1134 and T5)Compute the income tax provision for purposes of the annual budget and long-range planProvide support and prepare answers for income tax audit queriesReview, develop and implement procedures to facilitate and improve the income tax compliance processesUndertake special assignments as required (such as tax research on specific items and questions raised by the internal stakeholders); and WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON The ideal candidate has:6+ years of relevant Canadian and International corporate tax experience; US corporate tax experience, an assetIn-depth knowledge of Canadian corporate taxCPA designation (CA, CMA or CGA)Masters level degree in Tax and/or completed CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Courses (Level I to III)Experience and being comfortable in interpreting and analyzing tax legislationStrong accounting skills and knowledge, with a self-starter attitudeComfortable working in an environment that requires solving complex, open-ended problemsStrong analytical skills combined with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple filesGood organizational skills and ability to work under pressureExcellent communication skills, oral and written in both French and English – Fluent in English is a mustExcellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to be a team playerAdvanced Excel skills are a mustHonesty, integrity, and a respect toward community and environment define our
