This is an in-house role based in Montreal, if you are outside of greater Montreal, you will have to be open to relocation to be considered** Our client is a Montreal based medical device company developing and commercializing a proprietary wire-based device and generator console that delivers focused shockwave energy within the cardiovascular system to treat Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO’s), a total blockage of an artery.

CTO’s are present in patients with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) and Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), conditions that affect over 10 million and 12 million Americans, respectively.

The existing management has done an excellent job to develop the current product, show proof of concept and complete certain regulatory milestones.

For example, in the CAD market, our technology is expected to be the very first workable CTO device in the coronary anatomy.

In the PAD market, the company already has certain regulatory approvals in hand.As a Vice President, Product Development, you will serve as a member of the senior leadership team.

The VP will lead teams responsible for highly complex mechanical and product development programs.

As a cross-functional role, the VP will also collaborate with multiple organizations across geographies to include Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing Technology Innovation, and Operations.Job Functions/Responsibilities:Develop and drive the organization’s product development activities in-line with established strategic plan:Establish & manage departmental budgets and resourcingLead a diverse team of scientists and engineers to develop revolutionary cardiovascular devicesCoach, and develop team members to effectively establish a strong, high performing and cohesive cross-functional teamCollaborate with company’s Chief Technology OfficerLead and implement customer centric medical device design programs, inclusive of close involvement with KOL’s and clinical experience programs to enable product success in the marketplaceShape new product development operating models and to help lead the organization through the evolution from a technology-centric model to a customer-centric solution driven model.Lead transition from development to commercial launch for medical devices and maximize product introduction into Market: from ß version to real commercial productEnsure the organization’s engineering activities are in line with all applicable regulatory, clinical and business standards to ensure the organization maintains the highest ethical practicesElevate the company’s profile on the global stage during press conferences, meetings, conventions and shareholder events Experience, Skills, Knowledge RequirementsThorough understanding of all stages of medical device product development and market introductionStrong leadership, interpersonal skills and diplomacyStrong strategic, organizational and planning skillsDifferentiated track record in people development and creating a strong pipeline of talent to lead the strength of this platform for the futureExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to build a world class team; Bilingual (French, English) an asset.Travel: as required both domestic and internationalStrong technical background, with deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: mechanical engineering, physics, materials science, and/or process developmentDemonstrated experience in strategic pipeline developmentExperience in interventional cardiology a plus; Experience in designing guidewires, catheters, balloons or other vascular devicesExperience in designing vascular modelsExperience in Project ManagementDemonstrated experience in accelerating innovation
