MindGeek: Director, Trust & Safety

This is a Full-time position in Montreal, QC posted September 19, 2020.

MindGeek is looking for a Trust and Safety Director with experience in the Information security and data privacy domain to join MindGeek’s fast-growing Trust and Safety team.

This individual will help identify risks and propose cross functional solutions, as well as closely work with engineering teams to present requirements and drive solutions that align with MindGeek’s values.

As the Director of Trust and Safety, your primary responsibility will be to manage global teams that provide abuse protection and policy enforcement support across a range of Mindgeek’s user generated content (UGC) products.

Expertise from these teams is used to prevent abuse by informing product design, driving analytical solutions, influencing consumer trust, and driving impact and operational metrics to manage current and future abuse fighting operations.

Cross-functional partners include other Security Teams, Analytics, Operations, Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, and Customer Support.

This role will also assist preventing spam/scam, phishing/malware, and account security attacks on our customers.

This role must balance internal operational realities with external policy, enhance operational teams and culture while communicating complex ideas to management and creating internal alignment.

Our Trust and Safety Director will be at the core of protecting MindGeek as they will evaluate, identify and execute on policies and processes that improve MindGeek’s ability to manage risk.

In this role, the candidate’s expertise will be leveraged to prevent abuse by informing product design, driving analytical solutions, influencing consumer trust, and driving impact and operational metrics to manage current and future abuse fighting operations.

Responsibilities: Partner with teams across MindGeek to secure high trust UGC products that are free of abuse and ensure we are solving to ensure our users are safe through scalable, long-term, design solutions.

Develop analytics rigor and technical capability in the teams with which we keep our users safe and predict and solve for policy enforcement and abuse prevention.

Work with stakeholders across MindGeek to develop impact metrics and strategy for the future.

Invest in and enable the team’s collective success, delivering business outcomes and building a cohesive, high-caliber organization.

Manage all content moderation operations teams and sites Partner with teams across Mindgeek and external organizations to secure high trust UGC products that are free of abuse and ensure we are solving to ensure our users are safe through scalable, long-term, design solutions.

Develop analytics rigor and technical capability in the teams with which we keep our users safe and predict and solve for policy enforcement and abuse prevention.

Work with stakeholders across Mindgeek to develop impact metrics and strategy for the future.

Influence Mindgeek cross-functional teams globally, gaining buy-in from key stakeholders and identifying operational efficiencies and synergies across organizational boundaries.

Requirements: 7+ years of overall experience and 5+ years in Trust & Safety Experience leading large scale content moderation operations in an internet company Extensive team management experience with both senior contributors and managers Experience interfacing with Public Policy, Security, Legal and Product teams Respect for diversity, sexual expression and deep empathy for users Experience with crisis management High comfort with data analysis, capable of in-depth interpretation and insights extraction Creative, out-of-the-box thinker, keen collaborator, process expert, with the ability to land new and emerging threats into their long-term business verticals after inception and setup.

Passion for developing a team and providing leadership as well as the ability to integrate and bring teams together.
