And, of course, we offer tasty options for a variety of food preferences including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and paleo diets.ROLE:The Bistro Supervisor is responsible for helping lead the team through living and promoting our five Core Values as well as maintaining the day-to-day operations within the department.

The Bistro Supervisor is responsible for delegating tasks, ensuring outstanding customer service, exceptional product quality and a positive team environment.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:A passion for organic food and natural medicine and love of the retail and grocery industryStrong, effective leadership abilitiesExcellent communication skillsOutstanding interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to set the standards for customer service in the Bistro departmentStrong problem solving, and decision-making skillsAn eye for merchandising and the ability to assist in managing inventoryHigh energy with the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility and desire to lead by example and create a positive, supportive working environmentDesire to support the Bistro Manager by actively working to meet standards of operationsResponsibilities:Maintains a strong working relationship with the Bistro Manager, ensuring effective communication throughout the day on department priorities.Set priorities and the pace for the day for the rest of the teamCoaches team members and helps drives selling and promotion within the department throughout the dayTrain and promote the standard of Customer Service expected by all bistro employeesAssists with creating task lists with the Bistro ManagerFacilitates production of in-store prepared itemsEnsures all staff are up to date with products and ingredients trainingsEnsures all department checklists are completedFollows up with staff regarding daily production tasksAssists in training of new team membersProvides regular coaching and guidance for bistro employeesAdopts and encourages a positive environmentAssists with recording and monitor spillage, sending spillage reports on a weekly basis, as needOther duties may be assigned, as neededExperience/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisor rolePrevious food service or restaurant experience considered a strong assetFood Safe CertifiedStrong organizational skills Interpersonal skills Effective communicatorAbility to work under time constraintsAble to delegate and direct the work of othersKnowledge of the retail environmentsAbility to work as part of a teamBenefits:Health spending accountCompetitive wageSweet store discountPositive team environment (work with like-minded, mission-driven people)Put your passion into work that matters with a growing, BC-based company committed to be a better company for our customers, our employees, and the planet.
