As we strive to be at the forefront of a complex and vastly changing retail industry, it is an exciting time to join the Canadian Tire family of companies.You will be joining the tax department team of nine CPA’s that support and manage all income tax areas.

Your focus the will be on CTC’s real estate holdings, including all matters related to CT REIT.

You will also ensure that the organization is compliant with income tax laws, while identifying income tax opportunities along with the associated tax risks.What You’ll Do Manage income tax provisions, monthly and quarterly tax accounting processes, and assist with income tax forecasting and budgeting Ensure that all compliance obligations, including Canadian partnership and trust returns and tax elections, are filed on a timely basis Manage REIT/SIFT and mutual fund testing Overall responsibility for income tax planning and reorganizations related to CT REIT including acquisition of real estate properties Stay current on income tax changes, analyze the implications of any changes to federal and provincial tax rules, published rulings, interpretations and court cases and communicate to the appropriate businesses Manage federal and provincial income tax audits including resolving related tax disputes Communicate and interact with various stakeholders including CT REIT accounting and finance personnel Design & improve processes to achieve operational efficiency and data accuracy with respect to the accounting for income taxes Participate in special projects as required What You Bring Accounting designation (CPA CA, CGA, CMA) 5 years of tax experience including exposure to REIT taxation issues Superior interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written) Proven ability to solve problems, propose alternatives to resolve issues, and identify process improvement opportunities Advanced working knowledge of Taxprep & Microsoft Excel Working knowledge of Yardi & Peoplesoft an asset Completion or enrollment in CICA In Depth Tax Course Experience with US income tax compliance an asset About Canadian Tire CorporationCanadian Tire and its family of companies are boldly shaping retail in Canada and we continue to deliver a positive experience for our customers.
