Salary(Grade:NM2) Hiring salary range $89497-$123,054 Position Purpose Under the supervision of the Secretary-General, provides strategic and operational leadership in the management, planning, coordination and administration of information management at the University.

Ensures that information is managed as an organizational asset and that a strategic direction for information management at the University of Ottawa is implemented.

Ensures that the institution’s archival and historical heritage is acquired, processed and preserved, and is accessible and disseminated to the university community and the general public, and applies the regulations and laws governing access to information, personal information protection and copyright.

Ensures that the University’s information management program enlists the University’s employees in meeting its information management requirements by establishing all the stages of the information management life cycle.

Essential Qualifications Theoretical and practical knowledge of information management acquired in university studies in the information management field (a master’s degree would be an asset).

Studies in archive management would be an asset.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar position, with at least five years in a managerial position Knowledge of the legislation, policies, procedures and best practices needed to establish an information management program Practical knowledge of the technologies and tools used in information management to serve clients in a digital environment, particularly in terms of the information life cycle Knowledge of information management systems, including electronic document and records management systems and other related corporate information systems Knowledge of archival practices Knowledge of laws governing access to information and the protection of personal information Knowledge of the Copyright Act (including exhibition rights) Knowledge of the Uniform Electronic Evidence Act and the Act to Establish a Legal Framework for Information Technology Experience in human resource management, team management and financial management Skills in analyzing documents and interpreting their meaning in order to apply the rules.

Strong leadership and communication (bilingualism-spoken and written) skills.
